Salary: G5 09-17 (actual pro rata salary to term time is £17,007.16 to £19,926.43)
Depending on experience.
(35 hours per week), term time only

For September, 2021, Christ Church CE Primary School are looking to appoint a dynamic, creative and hardworking Parent Support Advisor who will deliver the very best learning experiences for our children.

Christ Church is a happy, friendly and nurturing Church of England Voluntary Controlled School in Leamore.  Due to the retirement of the current role holder, we are looking for a new member of our team.  Christ Church is an ambitious school that holds pupils and families at the heart of all it’s work. 

As a parent support advisor you will face a wide range of challenges and no two days will be the same.  The successful candidate will have nurture at the heart of all they do and be able to communicate with children and adults.

The Parent Support Advisor will:

• Provide families and pupils with support and information.
• Be a vital member of the Safeguarding Team (Deputy DSL)
• Support parents of children with early signs of social, emotional, health or behaviour issues.
• To provide impartial information or referrals to parents about the school and relevant local events.
• To work in partnership with parents and identify needs for parenting support groups for those wishing to enhance their relationship with their children.
• To keep records of any meetings held in compliance with GDPR.
• Conduct reviews and assessments of the effectiveness of the work being carried out with pupils and families.
• Attend meetings which may be required to improve attendance, help other services or further develop the role as parent support advisor.
• Attend Early Help/Child in Need meetings and lead on these.

It is essential that you have:

• NVQ Level 3 in supporting teaching and learning in schools.
• Grade C or above in English and Maths or equivalent (minimum).
• Experience of working within a school setting.
• Experience in working with families, agencies and other professionals.
• Knowledge and experience of safeguarding and KCSIE.
• Ability to work confidentially.
• Able to facilitate group sessions.
• Evidence of excellent ICT skills and organisational skills.

Visits are strongly recommended.
