We are currently recruiting for a Home Improvement Officer to assist with the delivery of £5.1m of home improvement and adaptation grants. The Home Improvement Officer works in a team of 5 to manage contractors, audit the works on site, inspect houses for hazards, troubleshoot and supervise the more complex extension and conversion works. Our external contractors deliver the improvement work and therefore this is a key role to ensure that they are performing effectively to support an assessment team that delivers for the whole of Warwickshire for private sector homeowners and tenants.
BTEC/HNC in Building/construction or equivalent qualification and / or 3 years building surveying /project managing experience in the construction industry.

The successful candidate will have:
• Ability to identify housing defects and remedial works
• Have experience of supervising construction works
• Ability to read and prepare technical drawings
• Excellent written, verbal communication and numerical skills
• Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team
• Flexible and adaptable to change
• Possession of full driving licence and ability to travel throughout Warwickshire
