Advanced Practitioner in Public Health

£37,724 - £40,506

35hours

This is a wonderful chance to join the public health team at Worcestershire County Council. Worcestershire is a great place to live and work, we have bustling towns and a heritage city, rolling countryside, history, culture, a passion for sport. Overall health in Worcestershire is good, but the challenges of health inequalities, service delivery, and improving health outcomes have never been greater, along with the current challenge of responding to COVID-19.

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and committed Advanced Practitioner in Public Health at Worcestershire County Council. You will work closely with the Consultants and Senior Practitioners in Public Health, members of the wider Public Health Team and colleagues across the County Council. More broadly, your work will include working across the Worcestershire health system with NHS bodies, District Council colleagues, Voluntary and Community Sector organisations and communities. Your work will advocate and improve population health, focusing on the wider determinants of health having an impact on health and wellbeing in its broadest sense.

You will fulfil a generic Public Health Advanced Practitioner role supporting a variety of health improvement, population healthcare and health protection activities.  This will include understanding local health needs, developing evidence based programmes to improve health and wellbeing and tackle inequalities. You will work with communities and partner organisaitons, contributing to the work of the wider public health agenda in Worcestershire and the Joint Health and Wellbeing Strategy. Although a generic post, we are seeking a candidate with specific interests and experience of health improvement, working with communities using asset-based approaches and developing integrating health and wellbeing models across a system.

You will be able to demonstrate a track record of working in partnership across organisations to make changes, find solutions and make a difference for local populations.  You will be expected to use a community centred and asset-based approach to coordinate the development and implementation of local plans, programmes, projects and service improvement initiatives. You will manage other practitioners and assist members of the team in delivering the Public Health Service Plan.

HOW TO APPLY: Please email your CV and Expression of interest, written against the attached Person specification to Lucy Chick - lchick@worcestershire.gov.uk
