Teaching Assistant Level 2

The Role

We are looking to appoint two Level 2 Teaching Assistants from September 2021 (or as soon as possible) to support children in our Year 1, and Year 2 classes who have an Educational Health Care Plan.

The Year 1 post will be on a Fixed Term Contract linked to the funding being renewed whilst the child remains on roll.

The Year 2 post is to cover maternity leave and we anticipate it ending in December 2021.

The funding available supports 25 hours per week, working hours to be agreed with the head teacher.

The post is term time only plus teaching training days.

Key Requirements

Year 1 Post

We are looking for a Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant who can demonstrate:-

Awareness/Understanding of Speech and Language difficulties and how they can impact upon a child's experience in school. Implement support heavily based within the speech and language area of need. Understand how Speech and Language difficulties can inhibit communication and impact on a child's social, emotional and mental health. Be a passionate, kind and understanding practitioner who can offer nurturing support to a well behaved learner. Be willing to learn about aspects of medical and physical needs, and provide appropriate care. Have empathy and understanding to a child who may require additional support with self care needs.

The Year 2 role - we are looking for a Level 2 qualified Teaching Assistant who can demonstrate:-

A patient and compassionate practitioner who can offer nurturing support to a well behaved learner. Understanding of social and communication difficulties and how these can impact upon the school day. An understanding of anxiety lead behaviours and have strategies ready to coregulate with the child. Be proactive in supporting learning and cognition difficulties, offering a variety of different school-led interventions. An awareness of different sensory needs and how this can impact upon classroom learning.
