37 hours per week, 2 year Fixed Term Contract

Telford & Wrekin Council are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated fully qualified Environmental Health officer to join our busy Food, Health & Safety team. The role is varied and includes food safety, food standards, health and safety at work, private water supplies, infectious disease, outbreak management and the living with Covid agenda.

Reporting to the Public Protection Manager, (Health, Food& Safety) the duties that the post holder is responsible for include:

  • Being responsible for the delivery of operational functions, dealing with service requests, routine inspections, investigations and provision of advice and guidance on all areas designated to the post to determine compliance with legal requirements.
  • To actively engage in commercialisation initiatives
  • To contribute to the development of strategies, procedures and policies
  • To act as the lead officer for designated areas of Environmental Health

Applicants ideally will be qualified Environmental Health Practitioners (holding an EHRB Certificate of Registration or a qualified graduate who holds a BSc or MSc in Environmental Health).
