Job Details

The Hearing Impairment Service in Dudley supports children and young people, their families and school staff with varying degrees of hearing impairment in a range of schools, settings and homes. The settings include two resourced provisions for the severe and profoundly deaf, a primary base at Ashwood Park School and a secondary base at The Crestwood School.

The Hearing Impairment Service is made up of Teachers of the Deaf, Educational Audiologists, Specialist Teaching Assistants and a Deaf Support Worker. We are a well-respected dedicated and experienced service.

Hours: 32 hrs per week (Fixed Term to cover maternity leave)

Salary:  Grade 6 - £16,634.77 to £18,366.25 (Actual Salary) plus SEN Allowance

A Specialist Teaching Assistant Level 3 is required to join the Hearing Impairment Service. The successful applicant will be based at the primary resourced provision at Ashwood Park School supporting severely and profoundly deaf children within mainstream classes and implementing programmes of work set by a Teacher of the Deaf to develop hearing aid management, listening and language skills. The job is initially for two terms only.
