Outdoor Education Learning Support Practitioner

TA2 Scale, points 5-6 plus SEN allowance

32 hours per week - Term Time Only plus 5 TED Days

Required:  1^st September 2021

The Forge Secondary Short Stay School is looking to appoint a motivated, inspirational and enthusiastic support practitioner to join our successful team as soon as possible. At the Forge our students all participate in some form of outdoor provision as part of their timetable. We actively encourage all our students to work towards achieving the Bronze or Silver Duke of Edinburgh award.

If you like a challenge and would like to test your skills in a rewarding yet demanding environment, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for a person who has a passion for working therapeutically in an outdoor learning environment, who understanding the benefits and opportunities this can bring to students lives.  Experience of working within the Duke of Edinburgh scheme would be an advantage. 

The ideal candidate should have:

•           Previous Experience in Outdoor Education, Youth Work or Residential Schemes, Forest school or Duke of Edinburgh scheme

•           An understanding of the Duke of Edinburgh Scheme and the benefits

•           Current and relevant experience of working with vulnerable and challenging children
