Are you motivated by knowing the things you do well will make a difference to young people? If so, we could have just the job for you!

We are looking to appoint a number of Teaching Assistants (called Student Support Mentors at Caludon) to be part of our friendly and hardworking team. The opportunities are for Year Student Support Mentors whereby you would be a key worker to an identified year group, inspiring and enthusing a number of students to achieve their termly targets, and also to provide assistance to classroom teachers with timetabled intervention/support.

Our student support team really is integral to the school’s vision to ensure young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their full potential.

You will be approachable, enthusiastic, motivated and resilient and able to support our vulnerable students as well as our most able, encouraging them to become independent learners.

These are unique opportunities to provide specialist support utilising your skills, whilst also observing a wide range of lessons across all subjects and years.  These posts could suit an experienced Teaching Assistant or someone looking to enter teaching, as the position would offer school-based experience prior to applying for a PGCE or School Direct opportunity.  We do need to ensure that you have good numeracy and literacy skills so that you can support the young people in our school with their English and Maths.

Caludon Castle has a great deal to be proud of.  We are an oversubscribed, high performing school with excellent premises. Our quality IT infrastructure, fantastic sports facilities and dedicated specialist areas enable us to provide exceptional learning environments. This means both our students and staff are motivated to work and are excited by opportunities available to them.  We offer a range of benefits which includes cycle to work, access to the on-site gym and swimming pool, free parking, an employee discount scheme and a commitment to staff wellbeing and recognition initiatives through our wellbeing committee and people strategy.

If you are as passionate about improving students’ life chances, as we are, please contact Emma Over, HR Director who would be delighted to talk to you about these opportunities, please email humanresources@castlephoenixtrust.org.uk if you would like to arrange a time.

Application packs are available to download on the Trust website http://castlephoenixtrust.org.uk/job-opportunities/vacancies/ on www.wmjobs.co.uk and www.tes.com or from Emma Over via email: HumanResources@caludoncastle.co.uk

Completed forms are returnable to humanresources@castlephoenixtrust.org.uk

Application deadline:  9:00 am on Friday 25 June 2021

These vacancies are fixed term temporary posts until 31 August 2021 to cover temporary timetabled requirements.

We reserve the right to close this vacancy early should we receive an overwhelming response.

As a result of current school closure due to the coronavirus outbreak, interviews may be subject to date change.  All interviews that do take place will do so in a safe environment observing government guidance under social distancing criteria.  Please do continue to submit your application if you are interested in the opportunity.  We will maintain contact with all candidates so you are clear of selection process arrangements if you are shortlisted.

These posts are exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to these posts will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).  The Trust is committed to safeguarding, promoting the welfare of children and young people and creating a culture of vigilance and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment and vigilance
