We are looking to appoint to our Senior Leadership Team an experienced and talented leader with a commitment to excellence in the education and empowerment of our highly aspirant students. The start date will be January 2022, or earlier by negotiation. This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and ambitious colleague to join a successful school at a key point in its development. Reporting to the Deputy Headteacher-Quality of Education,

applicants will be an experienced leader already contributing significantly to whole‐school developments and improvements.

The successful candidate will:

• be passionate about high standards and excellence for all students regardless of their background or starting points

• be passionate about teaching and evidenced informed practice

• be an enthusiastic and positive team player

• be an exemplarily practitioner

The role is varied, and includes leadership of teaching and learning, staff professional learning, assessment, monitoring, and the line management of departments. Whilst the job has a specific focus on Teaching and Professional Learning, it also gives outstanding opportunities for leading change across the whole as part of the school’s High Performance

Learning Drive Team.

The successful candidate will be fully supported in their career and professional development through CPD and a commitment to supporting up to date training and development needs.

King Edward VI Handsworth Wood Girls’ Academy is an 11-18 comprehensive school in the north-west of Birmingham.

Our student intake is from a variety of ethnic backgrounds, making for a very harmonious and happy school. We truly believe that high aspirations can transform the life chances of our students, underpinned by our drive to develop in our students the universal values of Scholarship, Character and Community.
