Job Start Date: September 2021

Location: based at Parkway, but will be required to work across the Academy

This is an excellent time to join James Brindley as the Academy continues to implement a strategic vision developed by pupils, staff and other stakeholders.  Join us to ‘Think Differently to inspire young people to overcome all barriers and achieve their dreams.’

James Brindley is a stand-alone Academy based in a wide variety of locations across the City of Birmingham.  In the course of a school year, we educate over 3,000 young people for periods ranging from a few days in hospital to several years in one of our teaching centres.  The majority of our young people have complex medical needs, and many have been out of education for a significant period of time prior to joining the Academy. We offer a full-time curriculum to young people from EYFS to KS5 and our aim is always to enable them to ‘close the gap’ and to make outstanding progress during the time they are with us.

We are looking for a Careers Adviser; providing professional careers education, information, advice, and guidance in order to improve pupils’ skills, knowledge and understanding for career planning and management. You will have good standard of education including literacy and numeracy who has experience in liaising with external providers and professional organisations. We will be funding the successful candidate to undertake a Higher Apprenticeship Level 6 Diploma Career Development Professional qualification.

This post is covered by Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) and therefore the ability to speak fluent and spoken English is an essential requirement for this role.

Closing date:  28th June 2021, 8am

Interviews to be held 5th July 2021
