Job Details

STAR Service is looking to recruit 2 Social Care Officers to join the team on a fixed term contract basis for 12 months.

You must have GSCE English and Maths or equivalent qualifications.

The role of Social Care Officer is to work with vulnerable adults and carers, helping them to achieve personal outcomes, ambitions, helping them to do things for themselves and take control over their lives as much as possible by building relationships and networks that maintain their independence.

The ideal candidate needs the ability to carry out comprehensive assessments, within a hospital or community settings in order to identify needs and personal outcomes and develop support plans aimed at meeting these needs. Completion of appropriate risk assessment is required together with actions required to minimise those identified.

Although the function of the Social Care Officer is primarily in the Assessment arm of the service, knowledge around the provision of home support services is required, as the candidate may be expected to provide support to the Provider Arm of the service.

Although the service operates 7 days per week from 07:00 to 23:00, the current rota pattern for Social Care Officer is x7 day working, 09:00-17:30. This is subject to change following any review of the service.

An enhanced DBS check is required for this role.
