About The Role

Y3 Classroom Teaching Assistant with SEN required from September 2021 (maternity cover)

Victoria Community School is a successful, vibrant, multicultural school which serves a majority minority ethnic community unique within Staffordshire where over 91% of our pupils speak English as an additional language.  

We require an enthusiastic and energetic teaching assistant with experience of Key Stage 2 and SEN work to start in September 2021. This is a full-time post for 32.5 hours a week based at our Victoria Road site to cover for maternity leave. The successful candidate will work four mornings in Year 3 supporting the teacher, plus one afternoon a week teaching Year 3 whilst the class teacher takes their PPA time. In addition, the successful candidate will work one full day a week in Year 1 supporting an HLTA and also work three afternoons as a SEN TA working with individuals or small groups.  

Applicants should be:

• Qualified to NVQ Level 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent.
•     Have experience of supporting children’s learning in a school, preferably in a SEN context.
•     Have experience of working with a wide age range of pupils including Key Stage 2.
•     Have good communication skills.
