We are looking for a Volunteer Coordinator to join us in establishing and building the Empowering Families service in line with NYAS strategic aims and objectives ensuring NYAS works in partnership with our key stakeholder.

 

As part of the Children and Families Change programme the service aim is to improve outcomes for children and families by offering one to one support to families who are struggling with various aspects of parenting and are being supported by Children’s Services, via either a child in need or child protection plan.

 

Working alongside another Volunteer Coordinator, you will be responsible for the recruitment, growth and development of a team of NYAS volunteers who will be actively supporting parents on a weekly basis, through the duration of the child in need plan or child protection plan.

This role is a home based role however to meet the requirements of the role you must live within the geographical area.

 

In your application, you will need to evidence, using specific examples, how your skills and experience meet the criteria laid out in the person specification, within the job description attached. Requirements include:

  • Proven experience in working with children and adults in a social care setting
  • Proven experience of the recruitment and management of staff and or volunteers
  • Ability to communicate effectively and to a high standard both orally and in writing to a wide range of people
  • Clear understanding of professional boundaries
