Job Details

Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is a small Council with big values. We are looking for two finance minded, conscientious individuals who would enjoy working as part of the Council’s busy Financial Planning team.  You should be committed to providing high standards of financial information and customer service to our users.

One post will involve the majority of the leaseholder functionality, alongside general support and budget monitoring roles, whilst the other post will concentrate on the more general support within the team along with budget monitoring.  
All the AFBP’s(3) will provide support and backup cover to each other’s key areas (leaseholders, payroll and general support).  
You should have experience in the use of IT and database systems, including using excellent excel and word skills.   You will be working both as part of the accounting team and independently and need a thorough, methodical and committed approach to work and the ability to work to strict deadlines. 

The role’s responsibilities are diverse and include:-

Leaseholder Service Charges
    Updating and maintaining the leaseholder financial records which involves extracting information from different finance systems and excellent excel skills. 
    Assisting in the bi-annual calculation of service charges and invoicing of the same.
    Providing considerate communication with leaseholders as the first line of contact to answer leaseholder finance related questions.

Supporting and working with the finance team, assisting with :-
    the set up of spreadsheets for budget setting,
    year-end accounting processes, 
    recharges,
    backup support for payroll entry into the financial system and related tasks, 
    reconciliations, 
    the set up of spreadsheets for budget monitoring, 
    Providing budgetary information with support for the team or direct to managers, 
    Reconciliations as required, and
    Freedom of information requests.
