Teaching Assistant to support child with SEN 

Grade 4 Salary Point 4 – 6 £18,933 - £19,698 FTE (Actual Salary £6631 - £6899)    

15 hours per week, Term Time Only, 1 Year Fixed Term (EHCP Funding)

Required from September 2021.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Teaching Assistant to support an individual with learning needs in Year 4. The contract is fixed term in the first instance as it is linked to a child with EHCP funding. If the funding continues the Assistant will remain.  

You will need 

  • To bring learning to life;
  • A good sense of humour;
  • To have high expectations and an unwavering belief in the potential of every child;
  • An understanding of ASC
  • To be able to communicate effectively with the child, parents, colleagues and outside agencies; 
  • To establish good working relationships with the class teacher, SENDCo and outside agencies;
  • To have good organisational skills, keeping detailed records and updating assessments; 
  • To provide support for families and ensure partnership with home and school; 
  • To develop your own personal practice; 
  • NVQ level 3 qualification or equivalent (desirable); 
  • To use initiative to work in a one-to-one or small group setting.

Candidates will be observed teaching a small group of children in their own setting or at The Woodlands as part of the interview process. Visits to the school are encouraged. Please contact the school to make an appointment.
