An excellent opportunity has arisen to work in Occupational Therapy Access and Prevention Team, at Brierley Hill Health & Social Care Centre, Venture Way, Brierley Hill. We are looking to recruit one permanent Occupational Therapist under Quick Response Team.  Your role will be assessing people who have a disability or illness that affects everyday living. You will make recommendations for equipment and adaptations to promote independence and wellbeing to enable people to live within the community.

Aim: To complete effective and timely screening of all Occupational Therapy referrals which may involve complete telephone assessment, same day visits, provision of equipment’s and signposting to ensure patients are safe in their home environment.

Hours: 37 per week

Salary: Grade 10 £35,745.00 to £38,890.00 

We are seeking for a Senior Occupational Therapists who are proactive in their approach, open to change and enjoy the challenge of influencing and implementing new ways of working. You will be supporting Occupational Therapy Quick response team by duty screening, remote assessment, same day duty visits, equipment assessment and provision. You will support the team with this development and demonstrate the value of OT in your practice. You will be working as a Duty Senior under Quick Response Team, supporting team members consists with Occupational Therapist, Assistant Care Co-Ordinator, Team assistant and Driver Assessor.

You will receive ongoing support and supervision from Assistant Team Manager and range of training opportunities .

We encourage applications from Senior OT with Rapid Response, complex manual handing and equipment experience and will be given priority. The successful candidate must be able to make effective and efficient travel arrangements around the Dudley Borough and be a Qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC is essential.

  • Remote assessment 
  • Prevention - by providing immediate response to promote independence by the provision of equipment, avoiding and delaying the need for care and hospital avoidance
  • Minor adaptations
  • Equipment’s: paediatric and adult specialist seating (this may require a visit to assess postural and functional needs, a rep visit and handover review), experiences on mobility and transfer, shower and bathing equipment’s.
  • Manual handling- Advice, assess and provide manual handling equipment’s
  • complex resolution
  • supervision skills
