We are seeking a highly talented and inclusive leader, with outstanding values and behaviours.

The role of Assistant Chief Fire Officer in Warwickshire is both challenging and exciting.  Our biggest challenges, recovering from the pandemic, the economy, levelling up and climate change as examples, may also be our biggest opportunities to grow and improve the services we provide to the communities of Warwickshire.  Working across the County Council and with partners will require the successful applicant to have excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong professional relationships.

The role will require you to strategically lead and resolve operational incidents (incident Command Level 4).  The role is open to applicants from all management backgrounds who demonstrate the potential to undertake the role.  A level 4 incident command assessment of potential will form a part of the selection process.

The role of the ACFO is to:

Contribute to the leadership, visioning, direction setting, customer focussed delivery of services and continuous improvement of Warwickshire Fire & Rescue Service; as an integrated part of Warwickshire County Council.

Strategically support the Chief Fire Officer and key stakeholders, role modelling the values and behaviours of our organisation, representing the interests of the Service and undertaking the full range of functions, duties and responsibilities of a Principal Officer in the leadership, operation, management and control of the Fire and Rescue Service.

Your views and contributions will be valued here in Warwickshire and we expect you to also value everyone in the team’s unique contribution.

When you're one of the people helping us to achieve our goals across Warwickshire, you will discover that the rewards more than recognise your contribution. Here are some of the benefits you can look forward to:

  • Provision of a role equipped vehicle in accordance with HMRC for continuous duty use

  •
  •
  •
  • Generous leave entitlement

  •
  •
