Salary: 21,748.00 - 25,481.00

We have a vacancy for a Welfare and Financial Assessment Officer within our Welfare and Financial Assessment Team.
The job role requires you to undertake financial assessments to establish charges for care and support services, and to support individuals with arranging payment options
You will also be responsible for providing individuals with access to sources of independent financial information and advice based on the level of support required, and providing guidance to social care professionals.
Your work will be undertaken by face to face contact, and can involve talking about sensitive matters, as well as communicating complex and sometimes difficult messages to people both in person and in writing.
You will need to have knowledge of the Care Act 2014, statutory guidance on charging and financial assessments, and the council’s care and support charging policy.
You will also have experience of operating in a customer-focused environment, and using computerised systems.
