This is an internal vacancy open to existing Walsall Council employees only
The Walsall Proud Programme team are looking for a talented and tenacious individual who can help us to deliver change in line with the council’s transformation programme.
Developing technologies, customer expectations and external budget pressures mean we need to modernise and rethink how we deliver our services.
We are recruiting a Programme Officer to support the Proud Programme and Project Team in the successful delivery of Proud transformation programmes and projects.
The role of the Programme Officer is instrumental in the successful delivery of the Walsall Proud Programme. The post holder will be expected to:
- Support the development and delivery of the Council’s transformation programme through working alongside lead officers and partners as necessary in the co-ordination; monitoring and where required leading on aspects of the transformational programme.
- Work closely and support senior managers, directors, programme managers and project management teams.
- Support programme and project highlight reporting including capturing and tracking risks, issues, dependencies and benefits across the transformation programme.
- Co-ordinate, create and support programme and project management training to lead officers, programme/project managers and members.
- Provide support, and assist with the delivery of transformation projects in accordance with best practice methodology.
We are looking for someone who has strong organisational and planning skills along with the ability and experience to work well with project teams in the development and delivery of change projects.
