You can make a difference too.  We have an incredible opportunity for someone to join our team whilst they study at university to become a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner (EHP).  You’ll be paid a salary and have the unique opportunity to gain valuable practical experience under the guidance of our team of EHPs.  You’ll need to be an exceptional and highly motivated individual, and passionate about protecting public health and the environment.

For the duration of the Apprenticeship you’ll spend one day each week at the University of Wolverhampton studying for the BSc (Hons) Environmental Health.  The other four days will be spent working in one of our teams dealing with food safety and integrity, occupational health and safety, environmental protection and sustainability, housing and communities, public health and wellbeing, licensing and animal welfare.  You can learn more about the apprenticeship scheme here.

For this role you must:

  • Satisfy the entry requirements for the CIEH accredited University of Wolverhampton BSc (Hons) Environmental Health course
  • Work well on your own and in a team to achieve goals
  • Have good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Be able to organise and prioritise to meet deadlines
  • Be able to develop good working relationships
  • Have strong ICT skills
  • Be confident when engaging with others
