The Housing Development and Growth Directorate leads, manages and delivers the investment made by the City Council into its roads, buildings and other built assets. The Council’s capital programme stands at £650m over a four-year period, making a considerable difference to the regeneration and economic of the city.
In addition to the Council’s own investment, the Council will engage, facilitate and enable investment from the private sector. This may mean the land that the Council owns is at the heart of any investment proposals, or the Council provides finance and/or other resources that require careful management.
This key and pivotal role will directly support the Strategic Manager(s) within the Housing Development and Growth Directorate and the Assistant Director of Investment, Planning & Regeneration to deliver the City Council’s capital programme. Specifically, it will ensure robust commercial approaches and capital programme management processes are followed, to ensure the Council delivers value for money to agreed quality and time parameters.
