Dudley MBC is a Community Council rich in history and is very focused on regeneration and reinvesting itself to meet challenges of the future, forming part of the West Midlands Combined Authority.  Legal Services continues to be accredited to Lexcel, the Law Society’s standard for excellence in Legal Practice Management and Client Care.

The Council requires a qualified Solicitor/Barrister with experience in Employment Law. Must be able to work independently and as part of a much wider team, working cross-directorate and with external bodies. Experience in local government is essential together with good communication skills and the ability to manage large caseload.

Part Time/Permanent

Two posts available – 18.5 hours and 29 hours per week

Salary: Grade 11 (SCP 36-39) (£39,486-£42,398 pro rata)

Location: 4 Ednam Road, Dudley/working from home

We have an opportunity available for two experienced Employment Solicitor/Barristers within Legal Services Corporate and Litigation Team on a part time, permanent basis.  One post will be for two and half days (18.5 hours) per week and the other post will be for four days per week (29 hours). 

The successful candidate will, amongst other things, deal with employment law matters, manage caseloads, prepare court bundles and settlement agreements and provide legal advice to the Council’s officers and Elected Members.

The successful applicant will be able to work within the Council's Flexible Working Policy, subject to the business needs of the Council being fulfilled.
