Job Details

The Childcare Strategy Team is responsible for providing support and challenge to all early years and childcare providers across the Dudley Borough to maintain and raise quality and improve child outcomes and provide sector specific training and continual professional development opportunities for the workforce. In addition, the team also administer and manage the Department for Education- early education funding for both the targeted and universal funded entitlements to early learning, education and care for some two-year-olds and all three and four-year-olds. 

 

Hours: 37 per week

Salary: Grade 7

The early education finance officer role sits within the early education funding team and provides a crucial function in supporting the administration of early education funding to all early years and childcare providers across the Dudley Borough by receiving electronic provider headcount data, checking, monitoring including auditing and making regular payments attached to individual children.

The successful candidate will:-

  • Ensure the financial administration and transactions for Early Education Funding (EEF)complies with council standing orders, statutory financial regulations, internal andexternal audit requirements.
  • Ensure all early education providers receive accurate and timely EEF payments for 2, 3 and 4yr olds including Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP), Early Years Inclusion Funding and Disability Access Funding (DAF).
  • Ensure all early years and childcare providers comply with the DfE statutory guidance and Dudley Code of Practice for the delivery of Early Education Funded places.

The role also includes offering support and guidance to providers and parents with their queries about the funded entitlements via the early education funding helpline and inbox.
