This is a shared service and will therefore work across North Worcestershire.

We are looking for someone to:  

  • Survey, identify and monitor works to watercourses and drainage infrastructure.
  • Reduction of flood risk through working with partner agencies, residents, riparian owners and others on the improvement and maintenance of watercourses and critical infrastructure.
  • Support the County Council’s delivery of responsibilities under the Flood and Water Management Act 2010.

The ideal candidate will have:  

  • Relevant engineering (min HND level) qualification
  • Experience of working in within environmental and drainage/watercourse sector
  • Experience of developing engineering solutions to flood risk

You will also need to provide a suitable vehicle in connection with the duties of this post and the job also includes duties that may require a substantial amount of physical effort and mobility on a frequent basis.

The hours for this part time position are 22.2 per week.

With a flexible approach to working hours, you will need to be able to work outside normal office hours if necessary including a requirement to be available for evening meetings. 

The part time salary is a Band 4 which equates to £16,071 to £17,635 per annum. 

Appointment to this post is subject to satisfactory clearance of a basic disclosure check (Disclosure & Barring Services (DBS)) under the Police Act 1997.
