Caretaker

Greenhall is a Local Authority Maintained Special Nursery School for children aged 2-5years.  We also have a Governor Run Nursery on site which is open 51 weeks per year.  We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS), references and medical clearance.

The Governors are looking to appoint an enthusiastic, pro-active and solution focussed Caretaker to provide high quality support to the school.  The post requires someone with strong organisational, practical and time-management skills. A flexible approach and ‘can-do’ attitude is essential.  We have an onsite hydrotherapy pool.  Daily testing and maintenance will be an essential part of the role, for which full training will be provided.

The successful candidate will have: -

• Excellent practical DIY skills
• Experience in working in a maintenance role
• Good interpersonal skills
• The ability to use their initiative and prioritise their work
• Full working knowledge of relevant policies/codes of practice/legislation, particularly with regards to health and safety

We are offering the opportunity to work in a welcoming school with a committed, enthusiastic and highly dedicated staff team and a very supportive Governing Body. Training and support will be offered to the successful candidate to ensure they are successful in their duties.

Salary Range: £19,698 (pro-rata)

Hours: 20 hours, Monday to Friday, Whole Year. Working pattern to be agreed.
