Business Development Officer

Fixed Term role to 31 March 2022 with a possible extension of a further 3 months.

Base: Warwick, however this role will be home based initially.

Salary: £20,092 - £21,748 per annum

About Us and The Role:

Warwickshire Music Service was established almost 60 years ago and became Warwickshire Music Hub in 2012. We have an exceptional team of around 90 teachers and support staff. We are proud to be the leading music provider within Warwickshire and have an outstanding reputation for providing high quality music education through comprehensive teaching, music centres and ensemble/performance opportunities. We are a traded service operating within Warwickshire County Council and provide instrumental, vocal and curriculum lessons to primary and secondary schools across the County.

We are now looking for a Business Development Officer to join our team. You will be instrumental in ensuring we continue to be valued by our customers and stakeholders alike. You will nurture a great team spirit where staff know what good looks like and have the opportunity to grow and develop their careers. A guide to Warwickshire County Council’s Behaviours can be found here.

The big focus for this role is on managing one of our Areas, ensuring pupils are allocated to lessons in a timely manner and supporting our teachers and schools in that Area. We are a traded service and rely on income from our operations as well as the funding we receive from the Arts Council. We operate multiple delivery mechanisms, pricing and billing models, including direct parental billing.

To be successful in this role you will need a ‘can do’ attitude and be able to build strong working relationships ensuring staff and stakeholders feel supported, valued and understood. Working alongside two other Business Development Officers, you will need to have exceptional attention to detail, be able to manage risk and prioritise work to ensure you and the team deliver with a ‘right first time’ philosophy. We are looking for a flexible, hardworking individual who can work with the teams around them to find effective solutions to operational issues.

An enhanced DBS check will be required for the successful candidate and knowledge of Agresso and Paritor software platforms would be advantageous but not essential, as full training will be provided.

If you have the passion, skills and experience to help us ensure that all children in Warwickshire have the very best opportunity to learn to play an instrument or to sing, then we want to hear from you.

The position is being advertised both externally and internally and is available as a secondment opportunity for internal candidates.

If you are applying for this role as a secondment opportunity, you must seek the approval of your current line manager before applying.
