Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council is a small Council with big values. We are committed to ensuring our services are delivered to the highest possible standard and we put the customer at the forefront of everything we do. By working for us you will become part of the team and will play your part in serving our community.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our busy revenues team as a Team Leader responsible for Enforcement.

You will manage a team in the effective enforcement and collection of outstanding debts to the authority. You will oversee the later stages of enforcement relating to Council Tax, Non- Domestic Rates, Housing Rents, Housing Benefit Overpayments and Sundry Debts.

The post holder will ensure that all available enforcement methods are considered and used as appropriate, including insolvency proceedings, charging orders, committal applications and applying for possession claims through to eviction where necessary.

The role requires excellent communication skills, the ability to deal with difficult situations along with the ability to learn, understand and apply complex processes.

The post holder will be required to deal with escalated customer enquiries and complaints by telephone, interview and composing non-standard letters.

This is excellent opportunity to build on existing experience and become part of a team committed to continuous improvement and customer service.

The post holder must have ability to think logically, to consider and apply internal policies, case law and legislation to all decision making.

The successful applicant will be self-motivated and be able to work alone or as part of a team.

You will keep up to date with all relevant changes to legislation such as the Debt Respite Scheme and consider the impact of legacy benefits and the ongoing introduction of Universal Credit on the revenues service.

As an employer, Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council offers a wide range of benefits, including flexible working, Local Government Pension Scheme and generous holiday allowance.

This post is covered by the Fluency Duty, as outlined in the Code of Practice on the English language requirements for public sector workers.

Please note that all applications must be received on an online application form. We do not accept CV's and do not keep CV's on file unless part of an application.

Any communication with you will be via email, so please check your email, including spam/junk folders, and WMJobs account on a regular basis after submitting your application.

For an informal discussion regarding the role, please contact Jade Fuller, Revenues shared service manager by email jade.fuller@nuneatonandbeworth.gov.uk
