The County Record Office collects, preserves and makes available the historic records of Warwickshire and its people. We have records dating from the 12th century onwards and our collections cover a wide variety of historical documents. Our busy public service welcomes nearly 4000 visitors per year, helping family and local historians with their research.
About the Role
The postholder will be a member of the Public Service Team, and will be involved in the delivery of a service to the public. A significant portion (50%) of the job will be spent digitising documents from the CRO collections. The postholder’s duties will be divided between the digitisation suite, public searchroom, the strongrooms, and the reception area.
You must have stamina to work in a very demanding environment and will have a level of physical fitness to enable you lift and carry documents on a daily basis from the strongrooms around the weight of 10 kg. You will also need to fulfil all the essential criteria on the Person Specification.
The postholder will gain new skills, knowledge, and experience from this role in order to successfully complete the Level 3 Library, Information and Archive Services Assistant apprenticeship qualification.
