Would you like to share your knowledge of positive behaviour support with others to provide a high quality service to children on the autism spectrum in our vibrant school?

Help make an Everyday Breakthrough happen by joining our team.

A breakthrough can seem like the smallest thing, but it can make the world of difference to someone on the autism spectrum. By becoming a Positive Behaviour Support Co-ordinator with the National Autistic Society you’ll help make Everyday Breakthroughs happen more often.

Who we are looking for

We are a forward thinking Autism Specific Specialist Free School with a new and exciting opportunity for a committed and enthusiastic individual to join us as a qualified Positive Behaviour Support Co-ordinator at our school in Church Lawton. The post holder will have experience of working in a behaviour support team and managing caseloads.

We were inspected in November 2017. The School was rated as Good overall, with outstanding in personal development, behaviour and welfare.  The school was also Autism Accredited in January 2019.

Supported by the National Autistic Society Academies Trust and National Autistic Society, we cater for up to 70 students aged 4-19 with Autism and Asperger Syndrome. As a part of the NAS Academies Trust, we have developed significant professional and working partnerships with the already established Independent NAS schools and other NASAT Free Schools, drawing on knowledge and expertise through professional working relationships to ensure best practise is shared.

We need you to be resilient, caring and sensitive towards the needs of autistic young people with a passion for specialist autism provision and improving education and life chances of people with autism and their families.

You will support us in providing a consistent person centred approach in the delivery of high quality services to a wide range of pupils on the autistic spectrum.

You will have experience of working with people with autism, working with a variety of different behaviours of concern and needs and enabling individuals to overcome barriers in learning and achievement.

You will be able to lead and motivate a staff team to work enthusiastically towards identifying and supporting the needs of people with autism, provide support, training and supervision to the behaviour support team and assisting them in designing, implementing and evaluating behavioural management programmes; give advice on trends and behaviours and provide a high quality service to assist people in overcoming the effects of ASD.

You will have either a Professional Diploma in positive behaviour support or equivalent or a Degree in Psychology (2:1 or above) with graduate basis for registration or equivalent experience.

Along with a host of benefits – from shopping discounts to flexible working and a competitive pension scheme - we’ll make sure you get excellent autism-specific training to help further your career.

You may have a personal connection, a desire to work with or real life experiences working with autistic people. If you share our Values and are willing to make a difference to the lives of autistic people, we’d love to hear from you.
