Worcester City Council are looking to recruit Casual Visitor Engagement Assistants at the Commandery. This crucial frontline role requires enthusiastic and engaging individuals to welcome our visitors, interpret our building & exhibitions in an enjoyable and informative way, and to deliver excellent standards of customer care at all times. The role also includes keyholding and security of the building and assisting with the smooth operating of the site throughout the day, including occasional work in the Shop/Reception. You will also be required to take full responsibiity for the building at the weekends in the absence of senior staff.
Successful candidates will have an enthusiastic approach to their work and a desire to learn and share their knowledge. We are looking for good team players, with a strong background in delivering first class customer service. The successful candidate will have the confidence and skills required to take responsibility for the site at the weekends and the physical ability to undertaken duties which will involve lifting, carrying and moving items and furniture. Also key will be a practical and flexible attitude, and the ability to work unsupervised and organise your working day to maximise efficiency.
Key skills include excellent communication skills, a sound understanding of customer care and the flexibility to work weekends, Bank Holidays and occasional evenings.
Previous experience delivering excellent customer service in a public facing role is essential. Previous experience working in the Museum / Heritage sector would be a definite advantage, as would experience of security of public buildings.
This role is casual with no set hours. You will be offered shifts either to cover for annual leave or sickness of our core team of VEAs, or when additional support is required such as event days.
