The Health, Safety & Wellbeing Service provides advice, support and guidance to managers and employees covering all relevant health and safety topics and workplace occupational health issues.

 

 

 

About the Role

Warwickshire County Council are looking for a suitably experienced workplace occupational health professional who will work as part of a busy Health, Safety & Wellbeing service in an exciting and fast pace authority. You will offer expertise and advice on workplace occupational health standards and strategies and provide assurance about occupational health management and legislation.

The post is based in Warwick but travel around the County is expected.

You will be involved in delivering a wide range of workplace occupational health functions including:

  • Working in close partnership with colleagues in HR&OD, and other WCC services on any workplace occupational health related initiatives and projects.
  • Working in partnership with the OH and EAP (employee assistance programme) providers in analysing data to identify trends for related occupational health focus.
  • Analysing other relevant data, such as sickness absence statistics, to identify trends and measurement of the effectiveness of actions and progress.
  • Work with others in identifying, developing, implementing and evaluating new occupational workplace initiatives.
  • Proactively provide advice and support to enable managers to effectively manage the safer working of their staff.
  • Be a key contact for the OH and EAP provider, managers and staff on Workplace OH enquiries, providing appropriate awareness and guidance in accordance with corporate framework, strategy, policies and standards.
  • Undertake research to identify good practice, current national and local standards and to benchmark against them.

 

 

If you want to join us for this challenging and rewarding role you’ll need to:

  • hold a degree (or equivalent level of qualification) or experience in Occupational Health
  • have knowledge of national workplace occupational health schemes/initiatives/standards
  • have recent experience of providing professional level workplace occupational health advice and support, preferably within a large, diverse and complex organisation.

For this role, you’ll need to be confident, a good communicator with a wide and varied audience, have a flexible approach to work, be able to meet deadlines, multi task and have excellent IT skills to be able to produce reports, interpret data and deliver advice to suit the audience. You will also need to be able to work under your own initiative and be highly organised.

The Offer (full time equivalent)

  • Up to £24,491.00pa depending on experience
  • Flexible working hours
  • Minimum of 24 days annual leave plus bank holidays
  • Car mileage reimbursement for appropriate work-related travel
  • Immediate access to the Local Government Pension Scheme
