External Funding and Community Grants Manager - Ref: RT06321
Salary: G9 £33,782 - £38,890 per annum
Fixed term until July 2023
Walsall Council is looking to recruit an experienced Project Manager to work in the Programme Management team to deliver the successful £1.5million ESF (European Social Fund) Community Grants programme on behalf of the Black Country. The programme distributes grants of up to £20,000 to small Black Country not for profit groups, engaging with the hardest to reach communities to move them closer to the labour market.
The roles primary responsibilities will be:
- Publicising funding opportunities and leading on briefing events and training opportunities.
- Assess applications for funding, prepare and present to panel.
- Monthly financial claims to the Managing Authority.
- Establishing and reporting into grant panels and steering groups
- Monitor, review and evaluate performance and delivery of grant recipients and report on performance.
- Liaise with partners including the Skills Funding Agency, contract delivery partners, and ESF grant applicants, regional networks, including ESF or appropriate bodies.
- Ensure ESF / Skills Funding Agency contract compliance, meeting appropriate budgetary, data collection, performance and claim criteria and deadlines.
The qualities you need will include being able to demonstrate an understanding of EU funding streams, excellent interpersonal and communication skills both oral and written, project management and partnership working experience together with knowledge and experience of finance management systems and meticulous attention to detail.
This post is covered by the Government’s Code of Practice on the English Language Fluency Duty for public sector workers. The post holder will be required to communicate verbally with customers and provide advice and/or information in accurate spoken English.
