This is a fantastic opportunity to join Birmingham City Council's Housing Management service and provide a real difference for the tenants of this city.
This is an opportunity to join the Tenancy Services Team as a GR3 Neighbourhood Officer. This is a vital role within our service as it is providing a visiting service to our tenants.
The role is based in the South of the city covering the Districts of Edgbaston, Northfield, and Selly Oak. There are approximately 24,000 properties and there are two types of visit to conduct. The first is a Tenancy Visit to complete a standard survey with the tenant about their tenancy and the property. The second is for Tenancy Management reasons in response to a request for service which may relate to antisocial behaviour, abandoned properties, mutual exchanges, unlawful occupiers, etc. Visits are scheduled by an IT system to maximise efficiency.
The roles all report to a GR4 Housing Officer and forms part of a team including the Tenancy Services Advisors who handle the initial enquiries.
The role is based around a visiting service, it is important that you are able to manage different enquiries of Housing Management on a daily basis and are able to problem solve effectively in order to resolve issues at the earliest opportunity. The principle of the visiting service is to provide one visit for ten reasons. There is an element of investigation and signposting with this role, including referrals to third parties.
On a daily basis your calendar will be automatically filled with visits to conduct in either an AM or PM slot and you will be responsible for ensuring all of those visits are completed.
It is preferred to have experience of Housing and the relevant legislation, however training on all policies and procedures will be provided, as well as training on systems.
Full drivers license preferred but not essential.
Housing related experience desirable. Training on system and policies will be provided.
