We are recruiting for an outstanding administrator to join our busy team to provide a fully comprehensive support service in collaboration with the Office Manager and other support staff. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high level of administrative capability and experience including a good knowledge of Microsoft packages (Word, Excel and Publisher) and the ability to pick up new software systems quickly. Applicants would also have a First Aid qualification or be willing to undertake first aid training.

We are looking for someone who is calm under pressure, and is continually customer-focussed, remaining confident and professional at all times.  The ability to manage a varied workload, along with a friendly, positive and approachable manner is essential. Highly effective organisational, interpersonal and communication skills together with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with colleagues, pupils and parents is essential. Previous experience of working in an educational environment would be useful but is not essential.

Key tasks will include carrying out a wide range of administrative tasks requiring the ability to manage conflicting deadlines, allocating work to other administrators and assisting with the provision of a professional reception service. Candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to manage and prioritise a changing and varied workload whilst paying attention to detail. The ability to work independently as well as cooperatively as part of a small team is essential, whilst some experience of delegating tasks is ideal.

St Peter’s Catholic School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff, contractors and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake an enhanced DBS check and other relevant checks as appropriate.
