Our parks and countryside sites also provide important wildlife benefits and an outdoor classroom for learning. They all contribute greatly to the enrichment and quality of life of our community who live, work, and play in the borough.  Working within the operational section of Clean & Green Services, we are seeking highly motivated individuals who wish to develop a career in green spaces working at Walsall’s Premier park ‘The Arboretum’

Main purpose of the job role:

  • To deliver a sustainable customer focused, high quality, cost effective Arboretum park for all stakeholders including residents, commercial businesses, internal partners, friends groups, volunteers, schools, elected members etc. 
  • Responsible for delivering front line operations to all communities, groups, public, users across the park ensuring the site is clean, safe, sustainable, aesthetically pleasing and making people feel pride in the areas they live.
  • Required to undertake daily completion of works including parks maintenance, horticulture, ranger services, education and supporting events.  Undertaking grass maintenance, weed control, hedge maintenance, bowling green maintenance, litter picking, path maintenance, shrub and tree maintenance, rose beds, seasonal planting, site presence & security, education programmes, event support.
  • To operate and maintain associated equipment as part of the day to day service functions including vehicles, trailed equipment, ride on machinery, strimmers, mowers, hedge cutters. hand-tools etc.

Interested candidates should possess ability / qualifications as detailed:

  1. Hold an appropriate Health and Safety qualification
  2. Full driving licence
