Act on Energy is a fast growing and dynamic regional energy advice charity. We are currently looking for a driven and dynamic Programme Manager to line manage our growing affordable warmth team of Project Officers and Energy Advisors.

Affordable warmth – What is it?
Our affordable warmth team help to deliver a comprehensive range of programmes and schemes on behalf of local authorities across our regions. Advice and support is delivered by a team of qualified energy advice specialists who run our freephone service and this is complemented by our project team including our community development workers. All driving awareness and interest in our service through the delivery of community events, drop in sessions, home visits and training sessions for organisations we work with.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Line manage 4 – 6 Energy Advisors, providing clear direction, assistance and support, and ensuring we offer customers information and assistance focused to a high standard and focused on client’s needs.
- Deal with complex or escalated customer enquiries or issues, such as difficulties accessing funding or safeguarding concerns, including handling phone calls and home visits.
- Manage our affordable warmth programmes such as Warm and Well in Warwickshire, Keeping Coventry Warm, ensuring all aspects of these projects are delivered to a high standard, building strong relationships with partners in the Health Sector, Local Authorities and with other funders to build our service delivery further.
- Manage the Service Level Agreements for Local Authorities to deliver their obligations under the Home Energy Conservation Act. This includes HECA reporting for each of the local authorities.
- Work collaboratively with other AOE staff managing projects in the region, to ensure Advisors are fully briefed and able to deliver against project targets.
- Chair Team Meetings.
- Deliver training and awareness sessions with front line workers and service users, particularly on the links between Health and Housing, and in general to promote our service.
Person specification:
- Be an experienced line and project manager, with an excellent track record.
- Have excellent knowledge around home energy efficiency, including awareness of the funding routes available to clients.
- In a work capacity, have worked on behalf of vulnerable people in complex situations.
- Be solutions focused, pragmatic and adaptable.
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to furthering an understanding of Health and Housing linkages amongst stakeholders, and to building future opportunities. Work experience in either the energy or local authority sectors, or ideally both, would be an advantage.
- Strong analytical and presentational skills, with the ability to articulate complex energy efficiency issues to non-specialists and communicate our client’s situations sensitively and expressively.
- Ability to use Microsoft tools such as Teams & Excel effectively, and gain skills using our new Microsoft Dynamics software.
- Excellent reporting skills

It is desirable that you have:
- Good general knowledge of energy infrastructure in UK
- Experience of working in, or in support of, local or other statutory authorities

Training
On the job training and support will be provided to you. There will be opportunities to
attend short training courses and potentially gain qualifications as needed.
