Our team are instrumental in the successful delivery of highways and transport services in Walsall. We are looking to recruit a forward thinking and ambitious Strategic Transport Manager who can take a leading role at a local and regional level.
The successful applicant will lead and direct the strategic transport function within Highways & Transport, reporting to the Group Manager for Transportation and working closely with regional colleagues from the Black Country Transport Team and Transport for West Midlands.
The post holder will take day-to-day responsibility for the successful development, delivery and management of: -
- Major Project Pipeline (highways, cycling, walking and, in conjunction with TfWM, rail, bus, rapid transit)
- Strategic and scheme-specific traffic modelling in support of the project pipeline
- Transportation Capital Programme
- Transport Strategy
- Ultra-Low Vehicle Emission Strategy
- Sustainable Transport Strategy / Local Cycling & Walking Infrastructure Plan (LCWIP)
- Walsall’s input to the Black Country Transport Priorities
- Transport input to the Black Country Plan Review and Delivery
This is a varied role with innovation and partnership working at its heart. We are looking for someone who has a strong transportation background and the ability to both lead and work effectively with peers as part of a strategic team.
