Dudley Disability Service for the the 25+ Multi-Disciplinary Team is looking to recruit to several Social Work roles. These are exciting and rewarding opportunities to work with a developing and motivated team delivering strength-based assessments and identifying support with a focus on inclusion and independence.  This is a new way for working which enables a whole life approach to be taken when meeting the needs of people with disabilities.  We are seeking to build on our early successes by recruiting the right people with the desired mind-set and required skill set to take the service to the next level.

Hours:  37 per week 2 Permanent Vacancies 

Salary : Grade  8 (£28,673 - £31,346 per annum)

The ideal candidates will possess highly developed specialist knowledge of social work practice and will be part of a dynamic team which is caring and supportive. Our approach to ensure that adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism, Physical Disabilities and Neurological conditions, and their carers are supported to live healthy, safe, independent, and fulfilling lives, free from harm and abuse through the promotion of wellbeing and choice.

We are looking to recruit 2 permanent qualified Social Worker posts. If you are an experienced or a newly qualified Social Worker looking for a new opportunity and keen to develop new ways of working and wanting to make a difference then we want to hear from you.

You will require a highly competent level of skills in assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation alongside extensive knowledge of the Mental Health Act, The Care Act and the Mental Capacity Act. 

Experience of undertaking safeguarding enquiries is essential, alongside experience of working in complex situations using professional judgement and a range of interventions.

You will also be on a duty rota supporting the team to respond to a wide range of contacts and agencies.

You will benefit from manageable caseloads, and receive professional supervision alongside working in a team of motivated, dedicated and friendly colleagues.

Dudley council has a contractual 3 days mandatory unpaid leave which, for the majority of services, are fixed at the Christmas period.  This represents a pay deduction of 1.15% in return for which employees are afforded three days unpaid leave (pro-rata for part time staff).
