About Us & The Role
Warwickshire Targeted Youth Supports sits within the Early Help part of Children’s Services. We are a team of dedicated youth workers who work with young people aged 11 to 18 years. We work with young people in a variety of settings – in school, on the streets, at home or at a centre. Our service has been given an amazing opportunity over the next 18 months to really address and prevent some of the issues emerging for young people in Warwickshire. Are you the person to help us do this?
We have vacancies for two full time JNC qualified youth workers. The posts will support capacity building within the voluntary and community sector of Warwickshire to develop sustainable youth club provision in areas identified as high need. This will include making links with the local community to sustain and resource ongoing youth work provision; to support in recruitment of part time youth work staff; to make links with and deliver youth work in the local secondary schools and provide support with relevant polices, management committee, infrastructure, and initial staffing.
The posts are funded for 18 months and will involve at least 2 nights of youth work. The hours will be varied.
Interested in these posts? It is essential that you are JNC qualified and will have a good history of delivering exciting youth work with young people. You are creative and resilient, and you will go the extra mile to make a difference for young people. You are good at making links with other professionals and agencies to benefit the young people you work with. You work well with others but are also good a delivering on your own and managing a busy workload. You are skilled at managing challenging behaviour and can see the potential in all young people. Mainly you will be really enthusiastic and want the best for young people in Warwickshire.
