Whatever your role within Wyre Forest District Council, every day you will be working to benefit the people of Wyre Forest. You can help shape our District’s future, and you will be part of a workforce that makes a difference.

Quality, professionalism and commitment are the key drivers of the services we offer to enhance the quality of life of local residents and visitors to the District. In order to maintain high standards it is necessary to have a diverse workforce who are highly competent and experienced, whose main focus is ensuring the services we offer meet the aspirations and needs of our local community.
The District Council is moving towards the adoption of a Local Plan which includes significant growth for the District. At this exciting time, an opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated person to join our busy Development Management Team and help us to build a sustainable and prosperous Wyre Forest.

The post is a temporary 18 month fixed contract to help maintain service and performance within the Section. This is a challenging but rewarding position which requires excellent communication, time management, presentational, and, interpersonal skills.

You will be expected to deal with a wide range of minor planning and related applications, informal enquiries, appeals and related matters across the District.

You will work a part of the Development Management Team helping to protect, maintain and enhance the quality of the built and natural environment.

This is an excellent short term opportunity to gain or further your experience within Town Planning. Graduate placements or as a secondment opportunities will be considered. Experience in a Development Management section is desirable but not essential. Does this sound like you? If so and you wish to discuss the vacancy informally please contact Paul Round 01562 732516 (paul.round@wyreforestdc.gov.uk) .

We’re developing a new way of working which you could be part of. We are introducing a flexible approach to the workplace. It means that, if the role permits, employees will be combining the benefits of working at home and in the office.

This is a career graded post. The successful candidate will be placed at the lowest spinal point within Band 3 unless their qualifications and demonstrable experience dictate that they would be eligible to be recruited at a higher level.

This job includes duties that may require a substantial amount of physical effort and mobility on a frequent basis.

Flexible approach to working hours, able to work outside normal office hours if necessary, including a requirement to be available for evening meetings.

Wyre Forest District Council is an equal opportunities employer.
