Independent Learning Support (Pathway)
Based at The Malthouse, Atherstone and Hereward College
Start date 26th August 2021
Fixed Term until June 2022
Minimum of 30 hours per week
Term Time only – 37 weeks (as defined by the College) + 7.1 weeks paid holiday.
Salary – £8.9423 - £9.9860 per hour
Based in Coventry, we specialise in providing excellent education and support to learners with diverse and complex needs, including Autism. Our staff are committed to enabling learners to reach their potential and fulfil their ambitions.
We have an exciting opportunity for support assistants to join our team. The successful candidates will have a broad knowledge base of working with learners with challenging behaviours and experience of developing and supporting learners with special educational needs and disabilities.
In your role as a member of the ILS learning support staff team you will be responsible for providing 1-1 support for a learner based at the Malthouse in Atherstone.
To apply, you should have level 2 numeracy and literacy, or demonstration via an assessment that you are operating at level 2 in both subjects. You should have experience of working in a flexible and responsive team as well working in a learning environment. You will need to be a team worker, with excellent communication, organisational and planning skills. You should have good IT skills with the ability to lead others and prioritise workloads. It is important to have a positive, proactive, flexible approach to work and a strong commitment to excellence and student success.
