The Role

Worcestershire County Council's Road Safety Team is looking to increase its pool of Cycle Instructors who work flexibly on a casual basis (zero hours contract) during school term time. Most of our courses take place over a consecutive four days (Monday-Thursday) during school hours so availability during those times is required.

Cycle Instructors deliver Bikeability National Standard Cycle Training in schools throughout Worcestershire. It is essential that you are a regular cyclist with your own bike, have general road safety knowledge and previous experience of working with children. For the role applicants will need to have good communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to relate these skills to primary school aged children. You will need to be able to supervise children in addition to the ability to solve problems positively and appropriately whilst delivering training. Good numeracy and literacy skills are required, together with the confidence and ability to train groups, maintain discipline and inspire confidence in a fun environment.

If you are interested in delivering Bikeability in schools then we would like to hear from you.

Please contact the Bikeability Team at Bikeability@worcestershire.gov.uk BEFORE applying to confirm that there are vacancies available in your local area.

Due to the nature of the work a criminal record check via the DBS disclosure service will also be required.
