Housing Support Worker - Ref: CH02621
Salary G5: £20.903 - £24.491 pro rata to hours worked.
Part time- 18.5 hours per week. This is a budgeted Fixed term position for 12 months. 

Providing the ‘Right Help and the Right Time’ to children, young people and their families here in Walsall is at the heart of everything we do.

We have an exciting opportunity for 2 part-time Housing Support Workers to join the Transition and Leaving Care Service. 

What is the job role?

  • To provide housing related support to young people that have left care and entering into independence. 
  • To enable them to maintain their tenancies and to achieve their aspirations for independent living.
  • The duties will be determined by the individual needs of the users being supported. The context in which support is provided may vary according to the users’ living environment and may include site-based support, housing management and support or floating support.

Who are we looking for?

  • Are you committed in making sure the right support is provided to young people to provide the best life changes and opportunities for their future?
  • Do you have the skills and abilities to understand their presenting needs and characteristics of children, young people, and their families?
  • Are you a good communicator and have the ability to work on your own initiative with a ‘can do attitude’?
  • Are you ready for a new challenge, in a busy but rewarding environment?
  • Are you experienced working with vulnerable children, young people and their families, working in a multi-disciplinary setting and hold the relevant level 3 qualification and have substantial experience of working with children, young people and families in a relevant field, including social care, health or educational setting?
