Children and Family Support Worker (Preventing Homelessness)  – ref CH02721
Salary G6 £23,541 to £27,741 per annum (pro rata) 18.5 hours

This is a budgeted fixed term contract funded for 12 months.  

An opportunity has arisen for a Family Support Worker post based in our Transition and Leaving Care Service. 

You will need to be passionate about our children in care in order to shape our support of young people who may at risk of homelessness or rough sleeping. Many of these young people may have complex and diverse needs ranging from a variety of backgrounds.  You will work alongside social workers and personal advisors to support children and their families/carers to help them achieve the best outcomes; complete direct and life story work with our young people as well as supporting them to obtain additional support through partner agencies.  

You will need experience of working with children, ability to work closely and cooperatively with colleagues, have good communication skills, a professional approach to working with children, young people and carers as well as a willingness to extending your knowledge and skills.

  • Do you have the skills and abilities to understand their presenting needs and characteristics of children, young people, and their families?
  • Are you a good communicator and have the ability to work on your own initiative with a ‘can do attitude’?
  • Are you ready for a new challenge, in a busy but rewarding environment?
  • Are you experienced working with vulnerable children, young people and their families, working in a multi-disciplinary setting and hold the relevant level 3 qualification and have substantial experience of working with children, young people and families in a relevant field, including social care, health or educational setting?
