The Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) is an alliance of organisations working together to reduce violence within the West Midlands. We are seeking an Associate Project Manager to come and join the Unit, hosted by the Police and Crime Commissioner. This role is fixed term ending 31.03.2022, secondments are also welcomed.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience of the youth mental health services system and a passion for innovation. The role will help us to deliver an innovative project to support children and young people to access culturally competent high intensity therapeutic interventions. You will also help us to connect the work of the wider VRU team with that of the mental health system in the region.

You should have excellent experience of building relationships, influencing partnerships and running successful projects which require collaboration to thrive.

You will understand and appreciate the complexity of youth mental health services but be prepared to drive change and innovate, you will be effective at working across a range of multi-disciplined organisations and creating shared passion for the projects you oversee.

You will be part of the VRU team and be expected to work with others to achieve its ambition. However, you will also need to be able to work on your own initiative and be the energy behind the successful delivery of a range of health-related projects. Evaluation will be a key element of delivery and you will should able to contribute to research, support & develop projects and initiatives which may cover a range of issues, and produce high quality briefings and reports which will contribute to the delivery of the VRU’s key priorities.

You will need to demonstrate creative thinking, initiative and strategic awareness in the way you analyse issues and problem solve.
