Tamworth Borough Council’s Assets Cleaning Team are looking to appoint new team members to assist us in maintaining the high standards already achieved on our estates, sheltered housing schemes and corporate assets in different locations across the borough. You will carry out a range of activities to ensure that a clean, attractive and safe environment is maintained at all times.

You will be responsible for the cleaning of all communal areas and play a role in ensuring that the corporate assets public buildings such as the Castle and Assembly rooms are cleaned to a high standard.

The Assembly rooms and the Castle are open for visitors 7 days a week.

This role will require weekend working covering the castle grounds toilets over the weekend period and some cleaning work within the Castle itself.

An understanding of COSHH regulations, basic cleaning procedures and safe systems of work would be an advantage but is not essential, as full training will be given.

A flexible approach is required as you may be asked to clean multiple areas.

The authority offers an excellent employment package with flexible working, a non-contributory health scheme, Local Government pension scheme and generous holiday entitlement.

Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references, right to work in the UK check, medical clearance and DBS check.

For an informal discussion, please contact Trevor Wylie – Leasehold and Estates Manager on 07891 052170.
