There are 2 posts available - 1 permanent & 1 fixed term post for 12 months. 

Do you have significant experience of working with care experienced young people? Would you like to be part of a passionate team within Children’s Services, Transition and Leaving Care?

We are looking for dedicated individual’s to join our team; the role of the PA is a unique one, it has its challenges but is extremely rewarding.

The role of PA is to support Young People leave Care as they transition into adulthood – offering advice and guidance and ensuring that they are aware of their rights and entitlements as a care leaver. This is a crucial time for our young people and it is essential you work collaboratively with partner agencies to ensure their needs are met.

You will focus on the young person’s aspirations, needs and wellbeing to establish both a plan and a network of support.

Our priorities are to help our young people access opportunities for education and employment & safe, secure accommodation; you will play a leading role in making sure they get high quality support from us as corporate parents. You will passionately respect and honour their identity; believe in and listen to them, inform and support them and overall be a Champion for them.

As part of the Government’s Rough Sleeper Initiative, personal advisors will also work with young care leavers who are at risk of rough sleeping, identifying accommodation pathways and provide the care they need to prevent this happening.

Completion of an enhanced Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) check is a requirement for this role. Walsall Council is committed to safeguarding and promoting the wellbeing of children, young people and adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.
