Quality Assurance and Appeals Officer

NJC Scale 6 (£24,982 to £27,041 per annum, pro rata)

15 hours per week (commencing 1 October 2021)

 

We are seeking a part-time, permanent Quality Assurance and Appeals Officer to join our Customer Relationship & Quality Assurance Team.

The post holder will have detailed knowledge of the complex legislation that supports the Housing Benefit and Council Tax Reduction schemes, perform efficient quality monitoring of output from the Benefits Service, make decisions on requests for reconsiderations, appeals and complaints, and coordinate data for Freedom Of Information requests.

A high attention to detail is required to assist with the reconciliation and completion of statutory returns in relation to benefit subsidy, and to assist external bodies with the subsequent audit.

The post holder will also need to demonstrate a flexible, adaptable approach to work and be able to deal with a number of issues simultaneously, responding to both operational and customer needs.
