Are you ready for your new role? Are you well organised, enthusiastic and want to make a difference?  Do you want to develop your management skills? Are you passionate about violence reduction and prevention? Have you worked with communities in either the statutory or voluntary sector, and can you demonstrate your awareness of place based approaches and the public health approach to preventing and reducing violence? The Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) is an alliance of organisations working together to reduce violence within the West Midlands. We are seeking an Assistant Delivery Team Manager to come and join the Unit, hosted by the Police and Crime Commissioner. This role is fixed term ending 31.03.2022, secondments are also welcomed.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience of working in and around the criminal justice system. You will be expected to support the Localities Manger and Education Delivery Manager to provide leadership and support to a Delivery Team of Community Navigators and Education Intervention Advisors, working across the region, to support local violence reduction and prevention partnerships and provide an interface for the VRU at a local authority level.

You will need excellent experience of building relationships and influencing partnerships which require collaboration to thrive. You will support the delivery team to integrate the VRU’s delivery model at a local level, offering high quality support to localities to reduce and prevent violence in the long-term. You will need to be prepared to drive change and innovate, you will be effective at working across a range of multi-disciplined organisations and creating shared passion.

You will be part of the VRU team and be expected to work with others to achieve its ambition. However, you will also need to be able to work on your own initiative and be the energy behind a team driving successful delivery of community initiatives. You will need to demonstrate creative thinking and strategic awareness.
