This post is countywide, based on the needs of the service, however the office in which you will be based can be negotiated at interview.

In the clinical aspect of this role you will have a complex caseload which will consist of but not be limited to: undertaking of P1 (urgent/high risk) visits, assessments, reviews, advice, equipment provision including manual handling equipment, minor adaptations, major adaptations funded via disabled facilities grant (DFG), supporting the social work teams and safeguarding.

As a senior OT you will be expected to support the OT manager in the practice, management and development of the team and will be a key point of contact for the team in addition to supporting with required tasks in the absence of the manager.

You will be a team player. The ability to engage and communicate with Disabled children is essential and the successful applicant will be committed to ensuring the children on their case load receive the best quality service.

Staffordshire’s Families First is one of the largest Children’s Services in England and as a consequence there are excellent career opportunities for highly motivated and experienced staff to join a ‘Good’ Children’s Service.

Staff are provided with high quality regular 1:1 supervision, senior OT meetings, monthly peer supervision and a second to none training offer which equips staff to have the tools to do their job both confidently and competently alongside excellent line management support.

Making sure you are well supported and given the opportunity to develop and progress is a high priority at Staffordshire and is very important to us.

If you are confident, have the skills and experience to manage a complex caseload, enjoy the rewarding work of promoting the independence, wellbeing and safety of children (and their families) and feel well equipped to support a team of qualified occupational therapists/experienced occupational therapy assistants in a demanding environment then this is the opportunity for you to thrive.
